May is Time for Celebrations of Life
May is almost here. Buckle up.
May is such a month of transition and so many celebrations occur. So here are a few crazy/fun holiday and Did you Know’s in the first part May to share with you. (Just for fun!)
May 1st:
National Chocolate Parfait Month
Mother Goose Day
National School Principal Day
May 2nd:
National Teacher Appreciation Day
May 5th:
Cinco De Mayo
May 8th:
No Socks Day
Don’t forget that Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 8th
There are wind chimes, those much liked extended deck hooks, bird feeders and more here at my store. Come on in and shop for “Mother”, Grandmother, or another special lady in your life for a Mother’s Day gift.
On Saturday, May 7th there will be a gift for mothers. May is also full of graduations of all sorts. Pleasant Hill high school graduation is May 12, and our high school employee, Sawyer Wells, is graduating. Salute to Sawyer, he has been a very valuable asset here this past year, and all of his “work family” wish him the very best as he moves into his next chapter of life.
Blue birds are nesting and the orioles have returned. Hummingbirds are being sighted. May is an exciting time for bird watchers and nature lovers. And of course, you can get blue bird houses and feeders and meal worms too, as well as oriole and hummingbird feeders and nectar here at my store. When you come in, share your bird sightings and tips with us. We love to hear your stories.
Another warm weather favorite is fishing. Did you know you can get minnows here at the store? They are $2 a dozen. Bring your minnow bucket. Now that you’re spending time at the pond, perhaps you are seeing algae on your pond. Aquavet products are available to help keep your pond healthy. Visit with Kristine on which products will benefit your pond and provide lots of enjoyment for you and your family and friends.
Now that you are spending more time outside, don’t forget to use the Sawyer repellant on your socks and clothing, lawn chairs, etc. to keep those chiggers, mosquitos and ticks away so you can truly enjoy your time spent outdoors and have smiles and not itchy skin to deal with afterwards. Speaking of mosquitos, here are a couple products I carry to keep mosquitos from ruining your outside time. The Spartan mosquito eradicator is a must have for your lawn to keep those pesky mosquitos controlled. The Mosquito dunks is another wonderful product to use in bird baths, small water holding areas, or a lagoon for example.
The first week of May the baby chicks return. Also vegetable and flower plants come in. These plants come from PHHS horticulture class. May is full of so many activities and celebrations and outdoor time!
Thanks for your business and I look forward to seeing and visiting with you.
