We love hearing the sounds of birds in the Spring! We know many of you are looking for ways to help them feel welcome and cared for. Below you’ll find some resources to help you get started.
Pleasant Hill Pet & Livestock looks for affordable solutions to help you connect with the wild birds in your area. We’ve curated hundreds of products to find what will best serve your needs and when we can’t find just the right thing, we make it ourselves (like our custom wild bird seed blends). We know how much you love bluebirds (our Missouri state bird) and wrens, so we’ve found some great houses you’ll want for your yard.
Bird feeders are created based on the type of bird that you want to attract. Since wild birds have different natural instincts for the way they eat, you will want to choose the right type of feeder for your bird type. Many of our customers ask for bluebird feeders. Bird feeders for bluebirds include hanging feeders placed in trees or mounted onto posts to help the bluebirds feel sheltered and safe.
A birdhouse is sometimes referred to as a nesting house because it provides a safe place for bird to build their nests. Bluebirds will appreciate it if you place their house near a grassy field where they can find food.
Wrens are easy to attract and prefer houses that hang from small trees or hidden along a fence.
Bird Bonanza is our specially formulated mix for all different types of birds. It contains sunflower seeds, sunflower hearts, and raw shelled peanuts for Blue Jays, Wrens, and Blue Birds; safflower seeds for Cardinals, Chickadees, and Woodpeckers; and white millet for Sparrows, Doves, Towhees, and Juncos.
